Scientific Corneotherapy

A revolutionary approach to skin health and treatment

Corneotherapy treatment

Corneotherapy is a remedial skin treatment methodology with its core principle being the repair and maintenance of the skin barrier defence systems, the only sustainable approach to treating any skin condition. Unlike traditional beauty therapy, Corneotherapy treats both the causes and the symptoms.

What is Corneotherapy?

Corneotherapy considers the structure of the skin on a much deeper level than traditional beauty therapy. It aims at recovering the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of the skin and its protective functions against harmful substances and organisms. The products and ingredients used are biomimetic, meaning their goal is to be as close to the skin's own chemistry as possible.

The Importance of Skin Barrier

If the outermost layer of the skin is healthy and intact, it is able to protect our whole body and the deeper layers of the skin, keeping the beneficial elements in and harmful elements out. This barrier can become compromised over time due to various factors, such as:

  • Ageing
  • Environmental stress
  • Improper skincare routines
  • Harsh chemicals in products
  • UV radiation and pollution

A compromised skin barrier triggers the immune system and causes inflammatory responses within the skin, driving premature ageing and many serious skin conditions such as contact dermatitis, eczema, acne, or rosacea, which are increasingly common nowadays.

Who Can Benefit from Corneotherapy?

Corneotherapy is beneficial for everyone who has:

Skin Ageing Concerns

Through natural ageing, our skin barrier can become less effective, leading to dryness, sensitivity, and increased susceptibility to damage. Corneotherapy helps maintain barrier functions, promote the skin's natural renewal processes, and improve the overall health of aging skin.

Skin Barrier Damage

If your skin feels dehydrated, has diffused redness or sensitivity, Corneotherapy helps repair and strengthen the skin's protective function, maintaining deep-level hydration and promoting renewal processes to prevent chronic skin conditions.

Chronic Skin Conditions

Conditions like psoriasis, eczema, and rosacea always involve a weakened skin barrier. Corneotherapy can help manage these conditions by supporting the barrier function.

Naturally Sensitive Skin

Corneotherapy uses gentle, non-irritating products to help support naturally sensitive skin's defences.

Sensitised Skin from Product Overuse

Using cosmetics with harsh chemicals such as AHA, BHA, SLS, parabens, fragrances, etc., can damage the barrier long-term, causing irritation and inflammation leading to chronic skin conditions. Corneotherapy promotes a healthy skin barrier to prevent these conditions.

Environmental Damage

Environmental stress, extreme weather conditions, UV radiation, and pollution can all damage the skin barrier. Corneotherapy helps protect and repair the skin from these environmental stressors.

Compromised Barrier After Cosmetic Procedures

After treatments like microdermabrasion, chemical peels, laser peeling, or dermaplaning, the skin barrier is severely weakened. Corneotherapy promotes the healing processes by rebuilding the barrier protection.

The Corneotherapy Approach

The products and treatment modalities used in Corneotherapy are free from harsh chemicals and ingredients, and help support the skin's own natural processes. By focusing on the repair and maintenance of the skin barrier and its defence systems, Corneotherapy helps to:

  • Improve overall skin health
  • Reduce discomfort
  • Enhance the skin's ability to protect itself
  • Prevent further damage
  • Support long-term skin health
