Electrolysis Hair Removal

I work with electrolysis since college. In the last 10 years I have been offering treatments for wide variety of hair growth, including clients with hormonal imbalance, such as menopausal hair growth, PCOS, thyroid problems, and transgender facial hair and surgical site treatments.

Electrolysis hair removal is a permanent method that uses electricity to destroy hair follicles, preventing further hair growth. A fine needle is inserted into each follicle. The method used destroys the stem cells of hair with either heat or chemical energy. Any areas of the body can be treated from ears throughout the torso and limbs, even intimate areas.

It is not a one-off treatment due to the natural hair growth cycles and the influences of hormones. But with committing with a bespoke treatment plan it works very well and gives a gradual, permanent clearance.

Electrolysis modalities used:

• Diathermy - aka Thermolysis, Radiofrequency or High frequency works by heat coagulating papillary cells.
• Galvanic - works by chemical reactions. Its effect rearranges the dilute salt solution molecules in the base of the follicle to form lye (Sodium Hydroxide) which is a destructive agent.
• Blend - combines Galvanic and Diathermy

There are generally no permanent side effects but temporary erythema (redness), slight swelling (perifollicular edema) may occur.
